What is your most treasured memory?
Making art in elementary school as well as my brother and I being picked up by my mother from that same school. She would take us with her to run her errands, which typically meant going to a department store or market. We would always try and hustle her for a G.I. Joe or Transformer.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
The truth never goes out of style. Truth over trend.
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?
Chillin with my family at a park or getting some reading in.
What is a bucket list location and why?
San Miguel del Milagro, Mexico. I would like to see the Cacaxtla Archaeological Site. These are beautiful and exquisite Mayan murals in central Mexico that are pretty well preserved. I reference the figures in my paintings often and I would love to see them in real life.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of “Home”?
Los Angeles, I think about being on an airplane descending into the Southland and seeing all the areas that create the greater Los Angeles area.
What is the first food that comes to mind when you think of “Home”?
Carne asada tacos and a pineapple water although I’m vegan now...
Where do you go when you need inspiration?
Outside.
