Vans’ first icon, the Authentic 44, gets reimagined by Sterling Ruby in the OTW collaboration. The Marbled edition covers the low-top canvas upper in swirling, painterly patterns — no two alike, echoing Ruby’s studio practice of chance and process. Minimal detailing and a clean black sole frame the artwork, letting the material speak. Lightweight, vulcanized, and endlessly wearable, it’s the skate original pushed into art-object territory. Part Vans history, part Sterling Ruby statement, the Authentic 44 (Marbled) blurs the line between street and studio.
