L.A. label Some Ware takes a distinctive graphic and typography-based approach to the world of ready-to-wear, evoking a unique spirit of multidisciplinary creativity. Photo magazine mogul Brendan Fowler and art/design veteran Cali Thornhill DeWitt launched the label's first collection in 2016, hoping to explore shared interests in identity-making, reception, and the fickleness of temporality, as well as more generally how their disparate experiences and aesthetic pedigrees might transpose into fashion. The resulting visual identity is defined by strong, vivid concepts executed swiftly. Ingenious image and text placement de-centers old t-shirt tropes, while an ethos of capsule collections issued in small runs ensures freshness and instant coveted status.
The original Some Ware highrise workwear cut with contrasting knee panels, first released in 2017, produced here in a heavy Japanese twill, with embroidered lock-up. Truly all sex*, these are designed to be flattering on all body shapes.
