This Saturday night the good folks at the Cinefamily are screening David Lynch's Mulholland Drive as part of their Heavy Midnites series. At midnight see one of the most surreal, creepy, bizarre, sexy and distinctly L.A. films on the big screen. Mulholland Drive touches on classic cinematic LA noir themes, such as organized crime, corruption in Hollywood, femme fatales, murder, and secrets. Like much of Lynch's work, elements such as dreams, sexuality, and the blurred lines of reality and fantasy are heavily at play. For those still in the mood for some of the eerie, and macabre elements of October, this makes a great last gasp as we transition into November and other romantic months.
