One of the finest post-Brat Pack era teen movies to come out of the States was 1999's 10 Things I Hate About You. It helped launch the careers of Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and for a lot of guys wanting to go full beast it launched them into heavy make out sessions with their lady friends. In short this was the perfect date movie. A clever adaptation of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew; it was one a part of a cinematic revival of teen movies which had been a dead genre since the late 80's. It was extremely fun, and way better than it should have been. Why not revisit this new classic during its 15th anniversary in 35mm? Saturday, November 15th the Nuart Theater in Santa Monica will be screening Gil Junger's classic. Click the link for ticket information.
