
American music has featured many unique personalities, many of whom were involved in the jazz game. One such unique personality was that of Rufus Harley. The Philadelphia raised Harley became inspired to learn the bagpipes after Black Watch performed at JFK's funeral procession. From there he searched the city for a set of pipes until he eventually found a set...in New York! Harley became known as the first jazz musician to incorporate the bagpipes into their sonic trip.
