One of the most prolific artists to ever come out of Brazil; the musician known as Antonio Carlos Jobim expanded the sound of South American music as well as jazz. His calm, arrangements brought a smooth, organic sound wave to jazz that was quickly assimilated. Jobim is possibly the main driving force behind the Bossa Nova fad of the early 1960's. A fad that would eventually help Brazilian music eat itself towards the end of the 60's due to its Americanization and subsequent overexposure.
