There is a lot of "art" out there these days that is void of content and exists solely as eye candy (yaaawn). Thankfully there are collectives like Slavs and Tatars that exist to create meaningful, in-depth art that speaks and argues on subjects that keep our wheels turning and provide the world with their point of view on certain subjects. In their own words... "Slavs and Tatars is a faction of polemics and intimacies devoted to an area east of the former Berlin Wall and west of the Great Wall of China known as Eurasia. The collective’s work spans several media, disciplines, and a broad spectrum of cultural registers (high and low) focusing on an oft-forgotten sphere of influence between Slavs, Caucasians and Central Asians."
