The OAMC Spring/Summer 2015 collection furthers the exploration of the fundamental thinking in the creation of functional clothing. We have begun an analysis of how to
incorporate functional aspects into products that not only enhance performance but result in a pleasing aesthetic. The thematic inspiration for the Spring/Summer 2015 collection is
based on the materials used in nautical applications; ripstops, multi-fiber ropes, layered fabrics, sailcloth, laminates, perforation, reflective materials, and safety fluo colors.
Lightness and transparency are also important design cues as are nautical-inspired hardware and semaphore font color graphic shapes. Fabrics and constructions that perform but
also show their performance capabilities in interesting ways are utilized. As with previous OAMC collections, fabrics, constructions, and finishings are all well considered; Japanese
nylon, Italian cottons and linens, Loro Piana lightweight performance wool, custom molded hardware, hand finishing, naturally tanned leathers, and technical elements are present.
