A Little Bit Of History: Violation of Chapter 6, Section 11, of the Montgomery City Code
It's
Rosa Parks' birthday today!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the lady who was tired of giving in and rose up to racial injustice!
On December 1, 1955, Parks was arrested, fined $14 and found guilty for refusing to give up her seat on a public bus for a white man. This simple act sparked a 381 day boycott in the city of Montgomery and ultimately led to the Supreme Court voting, 9-0, on an end to segregation on municipal buses.
