Pierre de Frédy, Baron de Coubertin, was the Frenchman who revived the Olympic games around the end of the 1800s and conceived the well-known Olympic flag with the five rings. Regardless of his social status, all ancient Greek men were allowed to compete in the ancient Olympic Games.
